In mournful mansions and crumbling castles, on moonlit moors and rainswept mountains, in hidden laboratories and forgotten crypts… Darkness lurks.

Whether thrown in by personal tragedy or drawn in by professional curiosity, there are those who investigate these places and the foul powers that inhabit them. Theirs is not an enviable plight, for though they may prevail, Darkness ever creeps.

Darkness Ever Creeps is a three-page rules-lite gothic horror ttrpg, which sees the players take on the role of those who investigate and defy the powers of Darkness. Uncertain outcomes are resolved by pulling from a deck of normal playing cards, with each suit relating to one of four stats: Strength, Agility, Wits and Darkness.
